March 2019 Newsletter

While winter seems to be holding on tight to the the region, WRTD is already preparing for the spring.  We are excited to be implementing our new fares and passes on May 6th and have several other projects in the works for the summer.

Fare change effective on May 6th

WRTD will be implementing new fares on Monday, May 6, 2019.  This moves follows a period of public outreach and comment period in January 2019.  Connecticut Department of Transportation and the WRTD Board approved the proposed fares in February 2019.

More details about the new fares and passes will be released over the next month at www.wrtd.org/fares, through the WRTD listserv, facebook, twitter and other sources.  Information can also be mailed upon request.  If you have questions, please email info@wrtd.org or call 860-456-2223.

Additional large buses added to WRTD's fleet

Over the winter three additional buses arrived at WRTD.  These buses, previously used by CT Transit, are being leased to WRTD.  The buses are are 40ft long and will be used on fixed routes.  We’ve got a few things to add to the buses before they are ready for the road, but expect to see them on the road in the next few weeks.
