Some towns within the Windham region offer Dial-A-Ride services for local residents. See the list of towns below along with descriptions of each service provided, as they vary from town to town.
The Municipal Grant is used to provide mileage reimbursement to “civilians” who volunteer to provide transportation in their personal vehicles (demand responsive) to those who need rides to shops, churches, medical appointments, etc.
The Municipal Grant reimburses the Town for mileage put on by the senior van for outings and recreational adventures
The services provided have no fixed times. They are scheduled either through the Senior Center or through the Selectmen’s Office.
Chaplin residents requiring transportation out of the area may be eligible for transportation service offered by the Chaplin Senior Center. For further information on scheduling your trips contact the Chaplin Senior Center Director at seniorcenter@chaplinct.org.
This service is available to residents who are 60 and older or disabled adults 18 years and older. Transportation is provided for doctor appointments, shopping, wellness trips, lunch and other activities occurring at the Beckish Senior Center.
This service is available Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 3:00PM. Hours of operation are flexible.

Coventry seniors and persons with disabilities contact the Coventry Senior Center and speak to the Transportation Coordinator (or available staff) to schedule rides. The Transportation Coordinator makes the daily schedule and coordinates with a team of volunteer drivers to ensure that riders are picked up and dropped off when needed. Rides can be scheduled for numerous reasons including medical appointments, personal/shopping, employment, bank, post office, voting, luncheons, haircuts, recreational etc.

The Lebanon Senior Transportation Program for Lebanon Senior and Disabled Residents offers a Dial-A-Ride service coordinated through the Senior Center. The most frequently asked for ride is to medical appointments, followed by trips to the Senior Center for services. The Senior Center also offers a Wellness Trip on Fridays that provides a new experience for the seniors. Our disabled clients are able to make use of the handicap lift on our 14 passenger bus to go where they need.

The Mansfield Senior Center provides free, accessible transportation to medical appointments for Mansfield residents aged 60 and above and those adults deemed disabled by social security. This service is offered for medical appointments outside of the transit district’s region, as well as within region when Dial-a-ride is unavailable. All destination requests must fall within a 30-mile radius of the Senior Center.
This service is available Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 4:30PM.
Please make your reservations at least 7 days prior to your appointment by contacting our Transportation Coordinator at 860-487-9875. You will receive confirmation of your request within 24 hours. Special exceptions may be made for emergency requests depending upon volunteer availability.

Medical transportation is available for elderly and disabled residents. There is no limit on the trip distance and the program offers 20 one-way trips per person a fiscal year. There is no cost associated with transportation services. Anyone looking to apply for the program can contact humanservices@willingtonct.org.
